This is a Black Dog accessory set for the American M20 armored vehicle in 1:35. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory for a model you already have finished. It is the loaded material that separates a model out of the cabinet from a vehicle that looks as if it had just come in from a patrol.
The M20 came about as a turretless counterpart to the American M8 armored scout car. The six-wheeled chassis stayed, but the powered turret with its gun gave way to a lowered open fighting compartment with a ring mount for a heavy machine gun. The vehicle thus served as a command and liaison car, as a convoy escort and for carrying reconnaissance patrols, and crews liked it for its speed on hard roads. The open body also meant that a great deal of equipment and personal belongings would fit into it, and period photographs generally show M20s loaded to the brim. After the Second World War these vehicles served in many armies for years to come.
Fit the accessories dry first and consider how much to put on the vehicle: less is usually more believable than an overloaded body. Paint them away from the model, keep the textile and leather surfaces flat and the metal ones slightly glossier. Toning into the folds and a fine picking out of the edges will give volume, and a final dusting with pigments pulls the model and the accessories together into one whole.
