A 1:35 accessory set for a model of the American M26 Pershing heavy tank. It gives a finished model the crew's equipment and cargo.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M26 Pershing was an American heavy tank introduced in the very last stage of the Second World War. It saw action in Europe only in small numbers and came into its own a few years later in Korea. Against the earlier American types it offered substantially heavier armor and a 90 mm gun, which could deal even with the heavy German tanks.
This 1:35 accessory set is meant for finishing a model that is already built. Cargo and equipment spread over the hull and the turret break up the large empty areas of armor, give the whole thing a sense of scale and turn a vehicle off the display stand into a machine that serves somewhere. In a diorama they also help lead the eye through the composition.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before gluing, rinse them and let them dry so that the primer will hold. Cut the excess material and the marks left by production off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and carefully sand what remains. Cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) is a safe choice, because it holds on resin and on plastic. Painting is easier before fitting: spray the primer, paint the individual pieces separately, unify them with a light dark wash and pick out the edges with a dry brush.
The set suits modelers who are building a Pershing into a diorama or who want to give it a working look without the labor of making their own accessories. It calls for no special experience; care when cleaning up small parts is enough. The exact contents, the piece counts and the recommended procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
