An injection-molded plastic kit of a light off-road vehicle in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. The model captures the quarter-ton four-wheeled M151A2 with a well worked-out chassis, interior, instrument panel and steering wheel. A driver figure and water-slide decals are usually part of the package.
The M151 was a light general-purpose off-road vehicle that the US Army and the Marine Corps used from the late 1950s to the early 1990s. The M151A2 version arrived in the 1970s and brought an improved rear suspension, larger turn indicators and further modifications. The vehicle is the successor of the older jeeps and became an icon of the postwar US Army.
Finish and paint the interior and the chassis before closing up the body. The vehicle is usually sprayed in a shade of olive green, and the look comes to life with panel accenting, rubbed edges and dusty weathering after off-road use. The tires can be flattened off in sheen and lightly dusted, and small photo-etched accessories raise the realism.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
