Black Dog 1:35 US M2 — the big accessories set is a resin accessory for filling out and bringing to life the American M2 vehicle in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin accessory set in 1:35 scale for the American M2 vehicle. It is not a vehicle kit — it is a collection of castings of cargo, kit and small equipment that is fitted onto a finished or part-built model and gives it content. In the manufacturer's designation this is the big variant of the set, that is, a more extensive package than the ordinary accessory sets of the same range offer. The exact number of parts is stated on the packaging of the set.
A military vehicle built exactly to the instructions comes across as empty. The load bed, the sides of the hull and the fenders really did carry crates, tarpaulins, packs, jerrycans and other materiel, and that is what the set adds. Besides realism, the model also gains visually: cargo in contrasting colors breaks up the uniform area of the base coat and gives the eye somewhere to go. The set also serves as a source of separate details for a diorama.
Wash the castings first in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap to rid them of mold release agent — otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw rather than breaking them; resin is hard but brittle. Sand wet and do not breathe the sanding dust. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary cement for plastic does not work. Apply a primer before painting. Paint the cargo separately off the model and fit it at the end — that way you can reach everywhere with a brush and bring out the differences between canvas, wood and metal better. A final wash and fine pigments on the lower surfaces will tie the whole thing to the chassis.
This is an accessory set, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
