Workable tracks for the Valentine in 1:35 scale (AFV Club)

This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The set holds separate hinged links with which you replace the tracks from the box on models of the British Valentine infantry tank (Infantry Tank Mk.III). Once assembled the track stays workable and settles naturally onto the running gear.

What the set is for

Replacing the soft one-piece track from the box raises the fidelity of the running gear considerably. The sharp detail of the links stands out once they are painted and weathered, especially in a diorama.

Building and painting tips

Clean the flash off the links and glue them with thin plastic cement; leave the joints free so that the track wraps around the drive sprocket and the idler wheel. Paint them in dark steel or gray, rub the contact surfaces with graphite and add dust and mud with pigments to match the scene.
