An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary German light off-road car Volkswagen Kübelwagen Typ 82 in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The model captures one of the best known military cars of the Second World War; the package tends to be rounded out with figures and decals for several marking variants.
The Kübelwagen Typ 82 was designed by Ferdinand Porsche and built by Volkswagen. The car grew out of the mechanicals of the people's car, had an air-cooled gasoline engine mounted at the rear and, despite drive to only one axle, coped even with demanding terrain thanks to its low weight and cleverly graded gearing. It was committed on practically every front as a liaison, reconnaissance and staff car. The name refers to the simple shell seats resembling a bucket.
This is a military vehicle, so first assemble and paint the chassis, the engine and the running gear, and only then finish the open body and the interior. Use thin cement for plastic and apply primer before finishing. Lay the base shade on with an airbrush; an open car repays a carefully painted interior, emphasis of the panels with a wash and fine dust and mud deposits in pigment on the underside and the tires.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
