Flat tires with hubcaps for the VW Type 82E Käfer 1:35 turn a staff sedan into a vehicle out of service. This rendition is the first of two.
Responsibility details are not available.
The hubcap stays in its place, but the rubber beneath it has settled to the edge of the disc. The set offers wheels for models of the closed Type 82E car in 1:35 size and of the pair of flat renditions this is the first.
Shots from the last months of the war are full of cars out of service: they stood on sidewalks, in yards and among the rubble, often without glass and without part of their equipment. Closed cars that had carried staffs ended up the same way as trucks, and many of them then served the victors or local inhabitants who put them back on the road. It is just such a subject that is worth building, because a passenger car peoples a scene in a way armored equipment cannot.
Other small things belong with a flat tire: broken glass, an open hood, seats covered in dust and plaster fallen on the roof. It is a good idea to tilt the vehicle so that the front wheel rests against a curb. Fine powder on the bottom of the tire then ties the wheel to the base and the transition stops being visible. If you are building a scene on cobbles, reckon with the settled rubber following the unevenness of the stones, so it pays to seat each wheel separately and to fix the final position only at the end.
The model of the vehicle and paints are not packed with the set.
