Weighted type 1 wheels in 1:35 scale for building the staff car Volkswagen Type 82E Käfer. The tire has a trodden contact patch.
Responsibility details are not available.
Replacement wheels intended for a model of the German staff car Volkswagen Type 82E Käfer. The tires are shaped with a compressed contact patch, so on a diorama the vehicle comes to rest on its base under its own weight instead of touching it at a single point. The designation type 1 distinguishes the tread design from the other variants in the same range.
Type 82E came about by joining two designs that were well established at the time: the civilian body of the KdF car, which after the war became the world-famous Beetle, was set on the cross-country chassis of the Kübelwagen. The result was a passenger automobile with an unusually high ground clearance, driven by an air-cooled flat engine at the rear. The Wehrmacht and other German services used it as a liaison and command car and only a few were built, so it is among the rarer subjects.
First rid the wheels of mold residue and wash the surface, so that it holds the primer. Painting tends to be easiest before fitting them to the model: tone the rubber in dark gray, never pure black, and spray the rim separately. The trodden patch will stand out when you bring it out on the lower edge with dust pigment matching the base of the scene.
It is an accessory, not a whole model of the vehicle. Paints and glue are not enclosed.
