A set of replacement wheels for a model of the German heavy L 4500A truck in 1:35 scale. Cast wheels are bought as accessories for two reasons: the tread pattern on them is legible right to the bottom of the grooves, which injection-molded plastic cannot manage because of the mold split, and the tire tends to be cast with a slight settling onto the surface, so the truck does not stand on tiptoe in a diorama. It is not a vehicle kit but a replacement for parts.
The L 4500 was a German heavy truck of the Second World War period, built in the four-and-a-half-ton payload class. The form with the letter A in its designation had all-wheel drive, which made it a vehicle usable off made-up roads as well, where ordinary trucks got stuck. The type served in supply, with the artillery and as a chassis for bodies.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water so that traces of mold release agent disappear, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and level their marks; sand with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate. Do not paint the tire black: aged rubber is more of a dark gray, and pick dust out with a dry brush or with pigment in the tread grooves. Before fitting, check how the wheel seats on the axle.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and it is an accessory, not a kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
