This item is not a vehicle kit but an accessory set for modelers who want to complete a model of the German Wiesel 1 light armored weapons carrier in its anti-tank version with kit and cargo. On a vehicle this small, every detail added is easy to see and changes the overall impression appreciably.
The Wiesel is a German light tracked armored vehicle that came about from a Bundeswehr airborne requirement for a weapons carrier that would fit into a transport aircraft and could be dropped or carried by helicopter. The result is a machine closer in size to a passenger car, with a crew of two or three and with armor only against splinters and small arms fire. The bet here is not on protection but on being inconspicuous, on mobility and on moving quickly. The Wiesel 1 family was built in two main forms: with a small turret with a 20 mm automatic cannon, and in an anti-tank version with a guided missile launcher on the roof. It is the anti-tank version that is the real subject of this set. The vehicles served with German paratroopers and appeared in overseas missions as well, so they suit scenes from the 1990s and from more recent times.
Small vehicles build quickly, and detail shows on them all the more. Kit, baggage and secured equipment added to them also help explain that someone lives in and uses this machine. The set suits a diorama with an airborne unit, with a firing position or with a crew at rest, and it combines well with figures in 1:35.
