This is not a vehicle kit but a separate resin accessory. It is a faithfully cast wooden log with a fine relief wood texture, of the kind the Bergepanther recovery vehicle carried at the rear of the hull as a bearing surface under its bracing spade. The set is intended for Bergepanther Ausf.A kits in this scale and replaces the part from the base kit with a more faithful rendering.
The Bergepanther was a heavy recovery and towing vehicle of the Wehrmacht built on the chassis of the Panther tank. It served to recover tracked vehicles that were bogged down or damaged. A heavy wooden log was set under the folding bracing spade at the rear, so that the vehicle could withstand the great forces involved in towing.
Wash the part to remove any remains of mold release agent, cut the casting block off carefully and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. The relief of the wood will come out after a base coat of brown and a subsequent lifting of lighter tones with a dry brush; a brown wash will emphasize the growth rings. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
