Wheels with deformation for the American Dodge WC 4x4 field car, 1:35 scale from DEF Model are a resin replacement for the plastic wheels. The vehicle is not part of the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set replaces the wheels of the American Dodge WC field car with all-wheel drive on a plastic kit in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of the car but an accessory to one. The tires are cast with a bend where they meet the road, so once they are fitted the model optically carries its own weight and does not float above the base.
The Dodge WC was a range of light trucks and field vehicles that during the war served in practically every role: from a command car through an ambulance to a weapons carrier and a tractor for light trailers. For their day the vehicles had very massive tires with a coarse pattern, because operation off the road was expected. It is precisely that combination of a fairly light body and oversized wheels that makes the tires the most prominent element of the whole vehicle; on a model it is the first thing the viewer notices.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, cut the casting blocks off and level the mating surfaces. The orientation is essential: on every wheel the deformed flat spot has to point straight down. Stand the model dry and check that it seats on all its wheels, and only then glue with super glue. Mask the rim and paint it separately; on military vehicles it tends to be in the color of the vehicle, while the tire stays dark gray. The coarse tread pattern practically asks for a dry brush and for pigment settled between the blocks of the tread, and on the sidewalls let the dust deposit grow heavier toward the bottom.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, as resin castings to be finished. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
