Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed accessory set representing four German EMC moored naval mines of the Second World War period in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. It is not a model of a vehicle or a vessel but a set of accessories intended to bring dioramas, coastal scenes or harbor corners to life. According to the manufacturer the box contains, besides the injection-molded plastic parts, photo-etched sheet, thread and decals.
The EMC (Einheitsmine C) was the most widespread German moored contact naval mine of the Second World War. The spherical body of the mine carried the characteristic contact detonators, the so-called Hertz horns, which when crushed by the hull of a ship set off the charge. The mines were laid in minefields off the coast and in the open sea and formed an important part of the naval defense of the Kriegsmarine.
The set contains a number of small and fragile parts, so work calmly and bond the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the spherical bodies with an airbrush once the primer is on. Showing marine weathering is effective: you create deposits, rust and algae with a combination of washes, pigments and matte varnishes. The enclosed thread will serve to suggest the mooring cables and the fittings.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
