About product

German trench binoculars 1:35 (3D print, Eduard)

The set brings finely 3D-printed resin scissors (trench) observation binoculars in 1:35 scale. This type of optics served artillery observers and commanders for observation from cover. It is not a model of a vehicle but a detailing accessory for bringing vehicles, figures and dioramas to life.

What it is for

Scissors binoculars on a tripod are a rewarding feature in command and artillery scenes. They can be placed by an observation post, on the body of a vehicle or in the hands of a figure. Thanks to the high resolution of the print, even the small parts of the optics and the legs stand out, which could not be faithfully captured in plastic.

Tips for working with resin

Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, carefully separate them from the print supports and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Do the sanding and cutting with your airways protected. We recommend laying on a primer; the optics can be finished with gloss varnish or a drop of clear resin for the impression of glass.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of German vehicles and figures of the Second World War
  • Makers of command and artillery dioramas
  • Modelers who appreciate the maximum detail of 3D printing

This is an accessory, not a stand-alone kit. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package.

FAQ

An observation instrument with two angled optical arms that allowed observation from behind cover, with only the upper part of the optics above the edge of a trench.

It is a detailing accessory. It serves to bring dioramas, vehicles and figures to life and does not make up a stand-alone model.

The lenses can be finished with gloss varnish or a drop of clear resin, which creates the effect of glazing.
