Responsibility details are not available.
This set brings an imitation of Zimmerit for the plastic model of the German heavy tank Tiger II (Königstiger) with the Henschel type turret in 1:35 scale. Zimmerit was a paste-like anti-magnetic coating that the Germans applied to the vertical surfaces of the armor so that magnetic charges could not be attached to it. The formed photo-etched parts capture the characteristic texture of the coating faithfully and are stuck straight onto the surface of the model. It is an accessory, not a standalone kit.
The Tiger II was the heaviest German tank in series service in the Second World War, with a gun of 88 mm caliber and heavily sloped armor. Zimmerit was applied at the factory from 1943 until roughly the autumn of 1944, and its typical ridged or honeycomb texture is one of the prominent visual marks of German vehicles of that period.
Separate the parts and lay them on a degreased surface of the model; glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Work patiently so that the individual areas follow on from one another. Once they are in place, cover the metal with a primer coat. The texture of the Zimmerit shows to excellent advantage once a wash and drybrushing have been applied.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
