The German twin machine gun mount Zwillingssockel 36 in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Zwillingssockel 36 is a German twin pedestal, that is a mount carrying two machine guns side by side. It served mainly against low-flying aircraft: it allowed high elevation toward the sky and quick turning about the vertical axis, so that the gunner could follow a fast target. It was fitted as a rule with a pair of MG 34 machine guns and appeared on vehicles as well as in fixed positions. A pair of barrels moreover meant not only twice the rounds but above all a greater hope that a short burst would hit the target at all.
An accessory in 1:35 scale, that is in the same scale in which military models and figures are issued. It will come into its own on the bed of a truck, at a field position and as a detail on its own beside a figure working it. The list of parts is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest off carefully, so that the thin parts of the mount are kept. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts. A metal look comes about best from a dark base, over which the edges are gone over by drybrushing with a steel shade; a dark wash will then emphasize the structure. Glue the pedestal only after the base it is being seated on has been painted, and secure the joint with cyanoacrylate glue. Think the elevation of the barrels over in advance, because a turn toward the sky will give a scene tension.
The set is intended for modelers of German equipment in 1:35 scale and for builders of dioramas with air defense. Paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise; the extent of the set is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
