Asian fern 1:35 is scenery vegetation for a diorama from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene. It is not a kit but a set of individual plants for finishing the growth in a scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains individual ferns intended for planting into a diorama in 1:35 scale. The plants are colored and ready to be separated from the sheet, shaped and planted into the terrain. The manufacturer is the Czech company Model Scene, which specializes in diorama vegetation and scenery materials. It is not a model of a vehicle or a figure, but an accessory with which a finished scene is filled out and brought to life. The name gives a range of 1:35 and 1:48; the plant is delicate and usable in both, but 1:35 is the primary one.
Ferns of the Asian type have long, finely divided fronds growing from a single clump. They grow in shade and damp – at the edges of jungle, along watercourses, at the feet of trees and in slope undergrowth. In a diorama they therefore sit naturally in scenes from Southeast Asia and the Pacific, in damp tropical and subtropical settings and in overgrown corners. The rich green matches the full growing season.
Separate the plants carefully and bend the fronds over the tip of a pair of tweezers, so that they lose their flat look and curl slightly downward. Plant them into a pre-drilled hole or glue them with cyanoacrylate, or with PVA glue on a soft base. Build clumps of two or three pieces and turn them in different directions – regular spacing looks artificial. Hide the base of the clump with a fine scatter, moss or soil. The coloring can be fine-tuned with a light overspray or a toning wash, always only lightly and once the glue has dried.
This is a scenery accessory, not a model kit. The glue, the paints, the base and any further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
