The Z4 GT3 came out of the brand's motorsport division as a car for customer teams racing to GT3 rules. Of the production roadster only the main proportions and the shape of the nose were left, and everything else is racing: widely flared fenders, a large front splitter, a big rear wing, a sequential gearbox and a cabin with a roll cage. The car appeared mainly in endurance races on European circuits, including the twenty-four hours at the Nürburgring, and in national GT series, where private stables ran it in colorful liveries. The long hood and short tail make it an unmissable sight among GT3 cars, recognizable even from a distance. Modelers also value its combination of a strong silhouette and simply readable surfaces, which paint well.
Models of circuit cars stand and fall with the accuracy of the livery and with the details around the cockpit: the seat, the fire suppression system, the control panel, the door mountings. This is exactly where it helps to have reference material at hand, because a kit usually simplifies that part.
