New Ware 1:48 masks for the Mirage IVA/P, ADVANCED level are pre-cut self-adhesive templates from Japanese kabuki tape for masking the glazing and the wheels. They are not decals and not parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut masking templates from the Czech manufacturer New Ware. The base is Japanese kabuki tape, a thin yellow paper with slightly flexible adhesive that holds even on curved surfaces and does not pull the paint off when removed. The ADVANCED level is the middle one of the three levels the manufacturer issues and, compared with the basic level, it extends the coverage with templates for the frames and the seals of the glazing.
The Dassault Mirage IV was a French supersonic bomber that became the mainstay of the country's independent nuclear forces. In design it followed on from the marque's delta-wing fighter, only with a pair of engines and nearly twice the dimensions. The IVA version entered service in the mid-1960s and flew with a two-man crew in tandem, with a large weapon carried semi-recessed under the fuselage. To reach the target, doctrine counted on refueling in flight as well as on taking off from improvised surfaces.
The pieces are lifted off the backing with tweezers and laid onto a clean painted surface. Light pressure is enough, and it is a good idea to run the tip of a toothpick along the edge so that no paint seeps underneath. Take the mask off while the layer is freshly dry, not after it has cured completely, when the edge breaks away easily.
