German horns for Pz.III A - D and StuG III 0-series is a resin set of five German signal horns in the two-holder version in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer ELEFANT. A small but prominent detail of the front end of the early machines.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of five signal horns intended for the early versions of the Pz.Kpfw. III tank and for the pre-production StuG III machines. It is the version mounted on two holders; the manufacturer ELEFANT offers comparable sets for other versions as well, so you can choose exactly according to the machine you are building. The set is purely an accessory and contains no part of the vehicle as a whole.
A signal horn belonged to the prescribed equipment of German military vehicles and on the fenders of early Panzer IIIs it was a clearly visible feature. The Ausf. A to D versions were small-batch machines from the end of the 1930s, on which the design of the tank was still settling down, and their details differ from the later versions in many ways. The zero-series StuG III then came about on the chassis of an early Panzer III as a trial batch of assault guns; it served mainly for training, so for a modeler it is a tempting rarity in which the faithfulness of the small things is what decides.
Cut the horns off with a scalpel and clean the cut up with the finest abrasive paper, as the parts really are tiny. Before fitting them we recommend marking the position of the holders lightly with a needle; a drop of cyanoacrylate will then sit exactly. In terms of color they blend into the whole in dark gray, and the mouth of the horn can be deepened gently with a dark shade.
