Relief decals from the Kelik brand for the single-seat F-16C fighter in 1:72 scale, shaped according to the name for the kit of a particular manufacturer. The bubble canopy of the Fighting Falcon offers a view into the cockpit undisturbed by anything, so a three-dimensionally executed instrument panel and side panels are among the most rewarding improvements of the whole model. The target kit is the Hasegawa one.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon developed from a light day fighter into one of the most widespread combat aircraft in the world. The C version brought modernized avionics and a broader spectrum of armament for strikes on ground targets. The pilot sits in a seat markedly reclined and flies the machine with a side stick on the right console; both peculiarities carried over into the layout of the cockpit, which this set faithfully captures in reduced scale. Today thousands of examples of the type serve around the world in many modernized forms.
Fit the side consoles before the seat is glued in, while the space is accessible. Sort the small elements out in advance on a moistened mat according to the order of assembly. With a bubble canopy it pays to polish the inner side and to photograph the model with the cockpit open, as you will thereby turn the detail of the set to full account.
