A set of masks for the canopy glazing of a Zlin Z-XIII model in 1:72 scale, shaped for the RS Models kit. It saves tedious masking with tape and leaves the canopy frames crisp.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Zlin Z-XIII is a sport aircraft from the Zlin factory of the second half of the 1930s. It belongs to prewar Czechoslovak aircraft design, which was typically marked by light structures and clean aerodynamic shapes. As a modeling subject it is an unobtrusive but rewarding machine: it has a slender fuselage and a narrow pilot's cockpit, so the glazing is one of the most conspicuous details of the finished model.
Pre-cut masks for the canopy glazing of a model in 1:72 scale. The shape of the masks is derived from the parts of the RS Models kit, so they settle onto its canopy without tedious trimming and measuring. They cover the clear areas and leave only the glazing frames exposed, which are then sprayed along with the rest of the fuselage.
Wash and degrease the canopy before masking so that the masks hold all the way around. Stick them onto a clean and dry part, press along the edges with a blunt toothpick and only then spray, always in thin coats. Let the paint set and remove the masks while the coat is still fresh; the edge then stays crisp and the finish does not tear. Wipe off any adhesive residue with a cotton swab moistened in water.
For modelers who build in small scales and want straight canopy frames, and also for those who have no love for masking with tape. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
