1:48 Curtiss P-40C Tomahawk - Americans in Stalin's Sky, part 2 is a decal set from AML with Soviet markings for P-40C aircraft delivered under wartime aid, supplemented by masks.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of water-slide decals in 1:48 scale brings markings for American Curtiss P-40C Tomahawk fighters in the colors of the Soviet Air Force, where they arrived under Allied wartime aid. The second part of the series contains markings for two machines and is supplemented by painting masks for the red stars and the glazing. It is intended for models of the Curtiss P-40C; a kit is not included in the package.
The Curtiss P-40 was among the most widespread American fighters of the early part of the Second World War. The P-40 machines delivered to the Soviet Union flew in its color schemes with red stars and often carried individual lettering and numbers. The Soviet use of American Tomahawks is a rewarding and less usual subject, which gives a model an interesting story.
Apply the decals onto a gloss varnish, treat them with a softener once they are dry and go over them with a clear varnish. The enclosed masks make it possible to spray the stars and the cockpit frame precisely and without the paint seeping under the film.
