A Peewit masking set for models of the Avro Anson C.19 and T.21 in 1:72 scale makes painting the extensive cockpit glazing easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory from the Peewit brand for painting models of the postwar versions of the Avro Anson. The name gives both variants, the C.19 as well as the T.21, so the set aims at machines with extensive cockpit glazing. It is not a kit but an aid thanks to which the windows stay transparent and the frames sharp.
The Anson entered service before the Second World War as a coastal patrol aircraft and soon became the most widespread trainer and liaison machine of the Commonwealth. The postwar C.19 version received a wider fuselage with more comfortable space for passengers and was used for liaison and transport flights. The T.21 variant served to train navigators, which explains the number of small windows in the sides of the fuselage. Thanks to exceptional reliability the type stayed in service until the end of the 1960s, that is longer than far more modern designs.
Many small windows mean a lot of small templates, so lay them out before the work in the order in which you will fit them. Work from the nose backward and check as you go whether any window has been left uncovered. Postwar British schemes tend to have pronounced stripes and high-visibility areas, which are sprayed only after the base color. If an unevenness is left on an edge when you lift the mask, level it with a damp abrasive sponge with a very fine grain.
A kit and paints are not part of this item.
