The Tempest followed on from the earlier Hawker Typhoon, from which it took over the robust structure, but it received a new wing with a considerably thinner section. That gave it back its maneuverability at higher speeds and made it one of the fastest piston fighters of the end of the Second World War near the ground. It came into its own in the interceptor and attack roles; the individual versions differed in the powerplant, because besides the inline engine some of the machines received a massive radial.
The carrier film of a decal tends to be somewhat larger than the artwork itself, and if a wide edge is left, after drying it shows on matte paint as a glossy outline. Trim the motif close to the print with a sharp scalpel with a new blade. The remaining edge will disappear under the final layer of clear, which will at the same time unify the whole surface to the same degree of sheen.
