1:144 Messerschmitt Bf-109 - Italian Social Republic (ANR) Insignia - 2 sets

ANR insignia decals for the Bf 109, 1:144 scale

A decal sheet with the insignia of the air force of the Italian Social Republic, abbreviated ANR, for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in 1:144 scale. According to the name there are two sets in the package, so it will be enough for two models, or a reserve will be left in case the first attempt does not come off.

The real subject

The ANR was the air force that arose at the end of the Second World War in the north of Italy. German fighters, among them the Bf 109, reached its armament as well, and its machines carried their own markings, different from the earlier Italian ones. For a modeler it is a rewarding detour: the familiar shape of the Messerschmitt in entirely different markings catches the eye on a shelf more than another machine in the usual form.

How the decals are applied

• Cut the element out close to the artwork so that as little carrier film as possible is left.
• Soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest until it begins to release from the paper.
• The base has to be smooth and glossy, or a silvery haze will appear under the film.
• Slide the decal into place with a soft brush and draw the surplus water off with a cloth.
• On an uneven surface a softener helps; finally coat everything with clear so that the edges of the film disappear.

Who the sheet is for

For collectors in small scales and for builders who want the Bf 109 in a less usual form. In 1:144 scale the insignia are really tiny, so prepare tweezers and good light and work over a light surface where the film is visible. The package contains decals. The model, paints, clear coat and softener are not included, unless stated otherwise.
