The real subject

The Z-37 Cmelak is a single-engine agricultural aircraft of Czechoslovak design, built to work a few meters above a field. Its whole shape follows from that: fixed landing gear that takes a grass strip, a high-set cabin with a good view forward and down, and a bulky hopper in the fuselage behind the engine from which the load is dusted or sprayed. The Cmelak stayed in service for decades and ranks among the best-known machines ever to leave the Czechoslovak aircraft works. The Z-37A version is its most widespread variant.

How to apply the decals

A conventional decal sheet transfers by the wet method. Cut the element out together with its backing, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it can be slid off to the side. A gloss surface belongs under the decal, because on a matte varnish air stays trapped under the film and the edge gives itself away as a light rim. Press the water out from under the decal with a soft cloth, working from the center toward the edges, and over raised detail use a softener so that the film pulls down into the engraving. Once it is dry, overcoat the model with a matte or satin varnish.
