A set of the T-40 turret with the Nexter gun of 40 mm caliber of the CTAS system in 1:35 scale. A modern French turret design rendered as a self-contained piece.
Responsibility details are not available.
The T-40 turret is a modern French design built around a gun of 40 mm caliber of the CTAS system. Its ammunition has a telescoped layout: the projectile is pushed inside the case, so the round is shorter and takes up less room in the fighting compartment than an ordinary round of the same caliber. The gun handles lightly armored targets as well as fire against aerial targets. A turret of this type is carried by contemporary French wheeled combat vehicles, among them the EBRC Jaguar. Its angular faces and markedly divided armor make it a piece that can be told at first sight.
The turret is rendered on its own, in 1:35 scale, that is, in the most usual scale for ground hardware. It will come into its own with modelers who build modern equipment and want a gun turret rendered as a separate piece, whether for further use or as a display of the weapon station itself.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the surface after the cut. Wash and degrease the whole piece before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold. It works well to assemble and spray the main shape of the turret and only then to fit the small parts that neither a brush nor a nozzle will reach later. The barrel deserves special attention, because it is the most visible thing on the finished model. The particular procedure and the recommended shades are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The set is meant for modelers with experience of building ground hardware in 1:35 scale. Paints, glue and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
