Omask J35 Draken O-max set (1:48)

This is an accessory, not an aircraft model. The O-max set from Omask contains precisely cut painting masks for the cockpit glazing and other clear or sharply bounded areas, completed with foam (EVA) plugs for the landing gear bays. The masks let you spray the canopy frames cleanly, and the foam plugs protect the inside of the bays from paint during airbrushing.

The real subject

The Saab J35 Draken was a Swedish supersonic fighter with a characteristic double delta wing. It served with the Swedish Air Force and became one of the best-known European jet aircraft of the Cold War.

• The masks are stuck straight onto the glazing and follow the shape of the canopy frames exactly.
• The canopy framing is sprayed without laborious masking with tape by hand.
• The foam plugs are inserted into the landing gear bays and keep paint out.
