Stencils for painting the model of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190D fighter. The item complements a plastic kit; it does not replace it. A whole numbered range of similar sets for various types comes out under the Omask brand. The set is intended for Tamiya kits.
The Fw 190D, nicknamed Dora among the pilots, received an inverted V12 Jumo 213 with an annular radiator in the nose instead of the radial engine. For balance the fuselage was lengthened both at the front and at the rear, which gave it an unmistakably long silhouette. At greater altitudes it performed considerably better than the earlier renditions and it was committed in the last year of the war, among other things to protect the airfields of jet aircraft during takeoff and landing. The groundwork for it was laid by work on the high-altitude variant, from which the powerplant arrangement was carried over as well.
Late German aircraft tend to have complex camouflage patterns, so plan what you will cover first and what later. Deal with the glazing only once the interior is finished. Lay the paint on lightly and run over the edge of the mask once more before spraying, so that no gap is left anywhere. Look the model over against the light beforehand and check for uncovered gaps. When you are done, let the coat rest a while and only then reach for the next shade.
Neither the paints nor the plastic model are supplied with the stencils.
