1:144 F-16C decals SWAMP FOX, South Carolina (HAVE GLASS SCHEME)

SWAMP FOX from South Carolina on a 1:144 model

The item on offer is a sheet of markings that the builder transfers onto an airframe already painted. The SWAMP FOX nickname and the reference to South Carolina are part of the name, as is the note about the gray HAVE GLASS scheme. The aircraft is sold separately and this item in no way replaces it.

Machines of the South Carolina National Guard

The Air National Guard operates combat hardware in colors and markings that often differ slightly from the regular formations. Collectors of miniature scales therefore reach for Guard machines readily, because they bring variety to a cabinet without having to change the type of aircraft. The SWAMP FOX nickname has a long historical tradition in this state and on the vertical tail it tends to be emphasized so that it can be made out even from a distance.

What to watch out for

• Prepare a smooth and fully cured surface under the markings.
• Divide the large markings into stages, so that they do not fold anywhere.
• Press elements over riveting and panel lines down carefully.
• Squeeze any residue under the edge outward with a soft cloth.
• Leave the tail until last; it tends to be the hardest to reach.

For which modelers

It will appeal to those who are putting together a survey of the users of one type and want a Guard machine in the row as well. It will also serve builders who fill a shelf with a series of machines in a small scale and are after an appearance of the airframe from the later period of service. Paints and varnish do not belong to the delivery.
