The single-sided masking set Curtiss Tomahawk Mk.II in 1:48 from Art Scale covers the outer side of the glazing of the Airfix kit and speeds up the preparation of a desert scheme.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory sheet with pre-cut masks for building the well-known American fighter in the service of the Royal Air Force. The single-sided rendition means that the outer side of the transparent parts is covered; anyone who wants a neat frame when viewed from the inside too will reach for the double-sided variant. The model of the aircraft from Airfix has to be obtained separately.
The Royal Air Force used the Tomahawk designation for the early versions of the Curtiss P-40 fighter. The machine had a V12 engine with the characteristic long radiator under the nose, a robust structure and decent qualities at low altitude. It was committed mainly in North Africa and in the Middle East, where it became famous for the striking shark mouths painted on the nose. A desert scheme with a hard division of colors is exactly the case where a pre-cut sheet saves the most work.
Store the sheet flat and dry; a wrinkled material holds worse. Before applying, check that the glazing is free of fingerprints. While spraying, hold the nozzle at right angles to the surface, so that the paint does not creep under the edge. If you are working with two shades of camouflage, leave enough time between them, because haste is the most common cause of a damaged frame in masking.
How many parts the sheet carries and what carrier the masks are made on is deliberately not stated here.
