Masks for the model of the British Phantom FG.1 and FGR.2 in 1:72, in a single-sided rendition according to the name. This is not a kit but an aid for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set for a model of the British versions of McDonnell's two-seat fighter in 1:72. The name gives it as single-sided. You are buying an aid for painting, not a plastic kit.
Britain had its Phantoms rebuilt for Rolls-Royce Spey engines, which called for a wider rear fuselage and bulkier air intakes. The naval FG.1 flew from the deck of a carrier and had an extendable nose gear leg, which raised the nose before a catapult launch; the FGR.2 served with the Royal Air Force for attacks on ground targets, for reconnaissance and for air defense. Both types carry an unmistakable silhouette with upturned wingtips and a downward-angled tailplane. British Phantoms served from the end of the 1960s and the last of them retired at the beginning of the 1990s.
In 1:72 the canopy frames are as thin as a hair, so covering them by hand tends to be a lottery. Offer the stencil up with dry tweezers and press it home with a soft stick. Apply the paint in two passes and let it set between them, so that no ridge is left at the edge when it is lifted. On a two-seat cockpit there are twice as many frames, so the saving in time shows more here than on single-seat machines.
Neither plastic parts nor paints belong with the set; it deals only with the spraying phase.
