Color display base for a model with the motif of the deck of the Japanese aircraft carrier Zuikaku. An acrylic board 3 mm thick measuring 410 x 270 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Zuikaku was a Japanese aircraft carrier from the time of the Second World War and the sister ship of the Shokaku. She was among the most capable vessels of her kind in the Imperial Japanese Navy and her deck carried a whole series of carrier aircraft over time. It is the deck that is the most interesting part of her for a modeler: the stripes, the markings and the shade of the wooden covering reveal where a machine took off from, even without building the surrounding scene.
The base is formed by an acrylic board 3 mm thick measuring 410 x 270 mm, that is 41 x 27 cm, with a color motif of the deck. The model is simply stood on it, no gluing or alteration is needed, and the stiff board does not bend under it. The motif is in 1:48 scale, so one model of a carrier aircraft stands on the area along with a piece of open deck around it. Which types of model and what form of deck the motif has in mind are given by the manufacturer in the data for the product.
The base will please builders of Japanese carrier aircraft who want to place a finished model into a setting but do not want to embark on a whole diorama. It also serves well to unify a collection in which every model stands on an area of the same size. The content of the package is the base only; the model, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
