1:72 USS Antietam (CV-36) 1953 type 1 is a base with the motif of the deck of the American aircraft carrier in her 1953 state, the type 1 rendition.
Responsibility details are not available.
The base captures the deck of the carrier CV-36 in the form the name dates to 1953. The type 1 label sets this variant apart from the second rendition of the same motif, which is available separately. The artwork is made for models built in 1:72 scale.
The Antietam belonged to the numerous Essex class and entered service in the closing part of the Second World War. She entered the history of naval aviation only later: at the turn of 1952 and 1953 she received, as the first ship in the world, an angled flight deck. The trials carried out on her showed that a landing with the option of going around again is safer than the previous arrangement, and the angled deck arrangement then spread all over the world.
The area suits a single model as well as a pair of machines set out into a scene. It also proves itself as a working base for final photography, because it suppresses the distracting background of a table. If you want to deepen the impression, add small figures of deck personnel; 1:72 scale offers plenty of room for that.
In the consignment you get only the base itself, not the hardware that will stand on it.
