Responsibility details are not available.
The item belongs to the Laffly Crew group of Dynamo-Models for 1:48 scale and with the word Set it is set apart from the numbered figures of the same group. The name defines it as French and with the shortened year refers to 1940. How many pieces the package holds is listed on the box of the set.
Laffly was a French maker of trucks and cross-country vehicles; in 1940 the army used them as artillery tractors and reconnaissance vehicles among other things. Crew figures differ from infantry in their activity - they load, they work, they drive. A combined motif therefore makes the most sense at a vehicle model, where it can be seen who is doing what.
With a combined motif it pays off to lay the composition out on the base before you begin to paint: where the vehicle will be, from where the figures come toward it and where they are looking. Mix the base shade of the equipment the same for all the figures, but shade and dust each one differently, so that the group does not read as a set of identical castings. Keep the leather items in a darker brown tone and the faces on a light skin base with gentle shadows in the eye sockets. In 1:48 scale contrast reads better than a quantity of shades. At the end even the lower parts of the figures and of the vehicle out with pigment in the color of the terrain and finish the whole view with matte varnish. Adapt the preparation of the surface to the material of the particular casting.
