A set of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the carrier attack aircraft A-4B Skyhawk in 1:48 scale. Photo-etched metal is a thin metal sheet with the parts etched into it, so it allows elements to be made in a thickness for which injected plastic is too coarse.
The Skyhawk came about in the middle of the nineteen fifties as a deliberately small and light carrier attack aircraft. Its low weight and small span allowed it to do without folding wings, which saved space on deck as well as the weight of the structure. The A-4B version belongs to the early production, and machines of this type flew with the US Navy and the Marine Corps for a very long time, and with other users for longer still. Among modelers the aircraft has the reputation of a small machine with a densely occupied surface.
For builders of aircraft models in 1:48 scale who want to take a model of the Skyhawk beyond the level of the box contents and are not afraid of working with small metal parts. Tweezers, a sharp blade and a steady hand come in useful.
The package holds photo-etched parts only. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
