1:48 A-4B/C Skyhawk seatbelts STEEL are photo-etched seat belts in a steel version for the cockpit of the early Skyhawk versions.
Responsibility details are not available.
A separate set of photo-etched seat belts for models of the early Skyhawks in the A-4B and A-4C versions in 1:48 scale. The word STEEL in the name means a steel photo-etched version. It is not a kit or a complete interior set, but an accessory aimed at one detail.
An ejection seat without belts looks like an empty shell, and that shows even in a photograph of a model. Belts, meanwhile, are an element an injection mold cannot cast in a realistic thickness. Metal etch can be draped freely over the edges of the seat, left hanging down the sides and fixed in the position they would have on a parked aircraft. On the Skyhawk, where the cockpit is often built with the canopy slid back, this is one of the simplest ways to move a model on.
Shape the belts first, then settle them in place. Make the bends over a rounded edge rather than sharply, so that a belt reads as a strap and not as a piece of tin. Dose the glue with the tip of a toothpick, because one drop too many runs into the hollows of the seat. If you are spraying the interior, count on fitting the belts last. Dry-fit the seat and the belts in the cockpit area beforehand, so that you do not find out only after the glue has dried that the canopy seats in place only with difficulty.
