The A-4 Skyhawk is a small single-seat carrier-borne attack aircraft which was built for long decades and became famous for its low weight and simple construction. The A-4M version was the last single-seat development branch for the United States Marine Corps: it received a taller and better glazed cockpit and a dorsal hump behind it. The cockpit of the Skyhawk is set high and through the large glazing a good deal of it is visible on a finished model.
These are colored three-dimensional elements of the interior in 1:48 scale, cut for the A-4M kit from Magic Factory. The set aims at the early production form of the machine. The elements have a three-dimensional relief, so the instruments and panels are not merely a printed surface; it replaces the laborious coloring of small details and the drybrushing of the parts from the box.
The base has to be clean, degreased and rid of excess material, otherwise an element will not seat. The procedure for application differs between the individual sets, so go by the manufacturer's instructions before working, because they also give the way the elements are fastened. Work with tweezers with fine points, lay an element down starting from one edge so that no air is closed in underneath it, and try each piece dry beforehand. Settle all the elements before you close the cockpit with the glazing, because afterwards you will no longer reach them.
For builders who want the cockpit of the Skyhawk finished quickly and without painting the smallest details with a brush. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
