A decal set from the SPACE line of the Czech maker Eduard, intended for a model of the Japanese carrier fighter Mitsubishi A6M2b in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory that raises the level of detail of a kit already under way. The decals are applied to the plastic parts and take the place of tiny painting for which a brush is too coarse.
The Mitsubishi A6M2b, better known by the name Zero and the designation Model 21, was a carrier fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy from the opening of the fighting in the Pacific. The designers staked everything on low weight, thanks to which the aircraft had exceptional range and agility, though at the cost of poor protection for the structure. It is one of the most frequently modeled Japanese types, so a whole range of accessories appears for it.
The base under the element must be smooth, clean and degreased. So first spray the part in the base shade and let it cure properly. Moisten only the backing paper with a sponge and a drop of detergent, lift the element with tweezers, transfer it into place and fix it with white PVA glue; the manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue. Do not use a softener, as its chemicals would damage the printed resin and ruin the element. Once dry, cover the area with matte or satin varnish, so that the edge of the carrier layer blends into the surroundings.
It is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
