LööKplus is the extended version of the LööK set at the Czech company Eduard. Alongside the three-dimensional, already painted instrument panel it adds further accessories that are normally sold separately, so a customer does not have to put the equipment together box by box. The package is aimed at a model of the Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft but a collection of parts with which an already purchased model is brought to a higher level of detail.
The Mitsubishi A6M3 is a middle development stage of the Japanese carrier fighter Zero. It received the Sakae 21 engine with a two-speed supercharger, which improved performance at greater altitudes. The Type 32 version had shortened square wingtips and the Allies at first took it for a separate type, while the Type 22 version returned to the longer wing with folding tips and a greater range. The Zero was famous for its agility and ceiling, paid for by minimal armor protection for the pilot.
The painted parts only need to be seated; just hold them with tweezers and protect them from grease. Cut any resin parts off the casting blocks with a saw or a cutting disc and never break them, and level the cut with fine sandpaper. Before painting resin, rinse it in soapy water so that the remains of mold release agent are removed. It is bonded with super glue applied in spots. The interior of Japanese fighters is usually modeled in a characteristic bluish green color, over which a dark wash into the hollows and careful dry brushing of the edges sit well. Finally unify the surface with a matte varnish and leave the dial faces glossy.
This is an accessory set, not a kit. The base model of the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
