Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale focused on the F-102A Delta Dagger interceptor fighters in the service of the Air National Guard of the United States. The package contains a printed decal film and instructions with the schemes for placement. It is not a model: the kit, paints and glue you will not find in it. The particular machines covered by the sheet are given by the manufacturer on the packaging.
The F-102A was a single-seat supersonic interceptor fighter with a delta wing and a characteristic fuselage shaped according to the area rule. It carried its armament in an internal weapons bay and was designed as part of the air defense system. After withdrawal from the regular units it served for many more years with squadrons of the National Guard, where a number of colorful unit badges appeared on it. It is precisely this late service that tends to be the most interesting for modelers, because it offers more varied markings than the earlier silver all-metal surfaces.
With a sheet of this kind it pays to pay attention to the trimming of the carrier film. The transparent film reaches a little further around the printing and, while on a gloss varnish it is not visible, after a matte coat it may create a noticeable outline around the marking. Trim the film with a sharp scalpel as close to the printing as possible, therefore, with rectangular markings quite happily exactly along the edge. With markings of complicated shape, rather leave a narrow margin and rely on the softener, which draws the film to the surface.
A decal sheet is not a kit. It does not contain the model, paints or glue. The particular variants and the contents of the sheet are given on the packaging.
