An HGW decal sheet for the Albatros D.V and D.Va in 1:48 scale, whose elements are cut out in advance by laser.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Albatros D.V and its strengthened counterpart the D.Va were among the main German fighters of the closing phase of the First World War. Their fuselage was built from plywood into a rounded semi-monocoque shape, which differs at first glance from the angular structures of the time and calls for careful work on the surface when building a model.
It is a decal sheet in 1:48 scale whose elements are cut out in advance by laser. You therefore do not have to trim them laboriously with scissors or a scalpel and the edges come out exactly where they should. It shows mainly on large areas, where an irregular hand cut would be visible once applied. Before you start, compare the layout of the elements with the model so that you know which belongs where.
Take an element off the sheet and soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds. As soon as it begins to slide freely on the backing paper, move it onto a smooth, glossy and degreased surface. Press the excess water out with a soft cloth from the center toward the edges and help busy areas with a decal softener. Work over a mat so that a soaked element does not fall on the floor, and pick it up with flat-jawed tweezers. Work one element at a time and let each one dry. The order and the placement are given in the instructions enclosed with the sheet.
The sheet will be used by builders of First World War aircraft in 1:48 scale who do not fancy cutting large areas out by hand. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
