Pre-cut painting masks for a model of the Alpha Jet aircraft in 1:48 scale. The set covers the glazing while spraying, so that the framing of the long tandem cockpit comes out sharp and equally wide. It is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory for painting. The single-sided version means that the sheet contains masks for the outer side of the glazing; you can mask the inner side of the frames yourself if you wish, or leave it in the color of the clear part.
Degrease the clear part and let it dry. Take the masks out of the sheet with the tip of a scalpel, lay them on the frame and press them down with a wooden toothpick all around the perimeter; only a well-adhered edge gives a sharp line. Where a mask overhangs the edge of the part, trim it with a fresh blade along the outline. Cover the rest of the model with tape or liquid mask. Spray thin coats with a short flash-off in between so that the paint does not flow under the edge. Lift the mask as soon as the paint is dry to the touch and pull it back at an angle over itself.
The Alpha Jet is a two-seat twin-engine jet aircraft intended for advanced training and light attack duties, created through French and German cooperation. The cockpit is laid out in tandem under long glazing with several frames, so masking the glazing makes up a substantial part of the preparation before spraying on the model.
The mask is an accessory, not a kit. The model, paints, glue and thinners are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
