Eduard 1:48 An-2 surface panels photo-etched set adds fine exterior panels and surface details to a plastic model of the Soviet single-engine Antonov An-2 biplane. It is an accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of photo-etched parts from Eduard in 1:48 scale is used to refine the exterior surface of a plastic model of the Antonov An-2. It is not a model of the aircraft, but a set of accessories that you glue onto a finished kit. The surface panels bring finely etched covers, doors, stiffeners and other features that give the surface of the model the scale depth and crispness that injection-molded plastic cannot offer.
The Antonov An-2, Colt in the NATO code, is a Soviet single-engine biplane that made its name as a reliable multi-purpose machine for agriculture, transport and parachute work. It was produced in enormous numbers and, thanks to its rugged structure and its ability to take off and land on a short strip, it is still flying today. Its large wing area and the fabric-covered parts of the airframe are characteristic.
Separate the fine panels with a sharp knife, lay them exactly along the engraving on the model and fix them with a thin layer of cyanoacrylate glue or with glue made for photo-etched parts. Degrease the area before spraying paint, so that the parts hold well. Careful sanding of the transitions makes sure the panels blend into the surface.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a kit. The model of the aircraft itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
