Eduard masking set 1:48 for the Arado Ar 68E - die-cut masks in Japanese tape for a clean sprayed finish on the small glazing and the wheels of this German fighter biplane.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking accessory for a kit, not a model of the aircraft in its own right. The set from the Czech maker Eduard brings accurately die-cut masks in thin Japanese paper tape for the Arado Ar 68E fighter biplane in 1:48 scale. On an aircraft with an open cockpit it makes a clean sprayed finish easier on the small glazed areas and the landing gear wheels, where masking by hand is only awkward.
The Arado Ar 68 was among the last fighter biplanes of the Luftwaffe. It came about in the middle of the 1930s; the Ar 68E version was given a V12 Junkers Jumo 210 engine. It was soon replaced in the front line by more modern monoplanes, and the type finished its service in a training role and briefly as a night fighter at the start of the Second World War.
Lay the mask on a degreased part, press the edges down with a toothpick and apply the paint in thin coats perpendicular to the edge of the mask so that it cannot creep under it. The circular wheel masks will hold a crisp boundary between the tire and the hub even when spraying with an airbrush.
This is a masking accessory - the aircraft kit is not included in the package.
