The AV-8B is a single-seat ground-attack aircraft with short takeoff and vertical landing, serving above all in US naval aviation. Its thrust is directed by four swiveling nozzles on the sides of the fuselage, thanks to which the machine takes off from a short strip or from the deck of a smaller ship. The version designated Plus was given a radar in a lengthened nose, which opened up work in poorer visibility and with guided ordnance. On a model this version is recognized precisely by the shape of the nose.
Photo-etched parts in thin metal sheet, cut for the AV-8B Plus kit in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch suits everywhere plastic cannot be thin enough: on small brackets, bracing, grilles and loops. The extent of the set, where the parts go and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The part number of the set is in line with the Eduard photo-etched sets for 1:48 scale.
Separate the parts from the sheet with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remains of the tabs away with a fine file. Bending goes along the marked groove, best of all in a bending tool or between two blades, in one movement. They are glued with super glue; on larger areas a drop laid on with a pin helps, so that the glue does not run. Wash the metal, degrease it and spray it with a primer before painting. Paint the parts that will end up inside the fuselage or under the canopy once assembled before you close the kit up.
The set is meant as an accessory for a kit. Paints, glue and primer are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
