1:48 Avia S-199 Bubble Canopy - TFace Mask Set for Eduard

Eduard Avia S-199 Bubble Canopy TFace mask set 1:48

This is not an aircraft model but a masking set by the Czech maker Eduard, intended for plastic models of the Czechoslovak Avia S-199 fighter with the bubble canopy in 1:48 scale. The masks are die-cut from Japanese kabuki (washi) tape and follow the shape of the glazing frames exactly.

The real subject

The Avia S-199, nicknamed Mezek (the Mule), was a postwar Czechoslovak fighter built on Messerschmitt Bf 109 airframes with a different powerplant. The form with the bubble canopy gave the pilot a better view. The machine also became known for its use by the Israeli Air Force in 1948.

Use and what TFace means

• TFace means masks for the outside and the inside of the glazing, for realistic frames from both points of view.
• Move the mask with tweezers, press it down and spray the areas.
• Take it off once dry and you have sharp edges.

Who the set is for

• Builders of the Avia S-199 with the bubble canopy in 1:48 scale.
• Modelers who want clean framing around the cockpit.
• Anyone after double-sided TFace masking.

A masking set on its own. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
