A photo-etched set of brass sheet in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand Eduard. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory for a plastic kit of the Lancaster already purchased. The name places it at the pilot's compartment, that is at the place that is well visible under the glazed cabin of a large bomber and where plastic parts usually offer only a simplified shape.
The Lancaster had its cabin set high on the top of the fuselage and glazed so extensively that the interior is visible from most angles. A crew of seven worked in the long fuselage, divided by armored bulkheads. The machines of No. 617 Squadron, which in May 1943 attacked the German dams in the Ruhr with Barnes Wallis's bouncing bomb, are among the best-known Lancasters in history and also tend to be built most often with the access sections open.
Assemble and paint the interior before you glue the halves of the fuselage together. Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, and never tear them out. Make the bends along the marked grooves and finish the fold against a steel rule. Apply super glue with a pin in tiny drops and wipe any excess away at once. Go over degreased sheet with primer, and only then with the covering paint.
