Etched metal parts for models of the B-17G bomber in 1:48 scale. They add to a kit the details that will not fit into injection-molded plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The B-17G is the last and most numerously built version of the American four-engine bomber of the Second World War. It is distinguished from the older forms above all by the gun turret under the nose, which added to the defense against head-on attacks. Machines of this version flew in dense formations over Europe and their silhouette is among the best known of the whole period.
Etched parts in thin metal sheet intended for models of the B-17G in 1:48 scale. Etching makes it possible to produce elements that an injection mold cannot manage: thin edges, mesh, belts and small controls. The exact make-up of the set and the assignment of the parts to places on the model are described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts off the etched sheet with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than breaking them off. Then sand the remainder of the tab down with a fine abrasive. Make the bends on the edge of a metal ruler or in a bender, so that the line is crisp and straight. The metal is glued with super glue, which you should apply in a small amount, best of all with a pin. Before painting, degrease the surface and use a base coat suitable for metal, or the shade will hold badly on the smooth surface.
The set suits modelers who already have experience of working with small parts and want to raise the level of detail of a kit. Fine-tipped tweezers and a magnifier will make the work noticeably easier. The paints, the glue and the kit itself are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
